Weekend with the Relatives

Hi, this is Lixy. This Friday, I went with Daddy, Mommy, Annie, and Willy to visit Grandpa and Grandma in Hamilton. It was a long way away and took way too long because the traffic was bad, but it was worth it, and Grandma had her famous spaghetti and meatballs waiting for us when we arrived. We also got to see Elena on our way through Toronto. She has been staying with friends for the last two weeks preparing for their Christmas concerts, so we have missed her back at home, and I was so so happy to see she was still sweet, tall, and beautiful as always.

It had been 11 years since I'd been in Canada and I was so excited to be in Grandpa and Grandma's house again, but as we pulled into the driveway I noticed the house looked smaller. It used to look twice as big, but Dad said that's because I was twice as small, hah. The house was still lovely, and Grandpa and Grandma of course are still lovely and grand! They took such good care of us the next 2 days, and on Saturday my Uncle Jason and Auntie Karen, Gramma Flo, and my cousins, Craig, Kyle and his girlfriend Serena, and Caityln with her boyfriend Joe came over to have dinner with us. Craig was my hero and got me some "girly" cocktail drinks because I told him I missed the ones we had back in Japan. Grandpa had brought home some super duper hot dogs and buns which we all enjoyed together. Gramma Flo brought over some of her amazing peanut butter cookies and butter tarts, and Auntie Karen made potato salad and deviled eggs which was just perfect. Everything was wonderful and I was so happy to be with everyone again at last and it was one of the best evenings I've had.
On Sunday Dad drove us all down to Limeridge Mall which was my most favorite mall when I was 12 years old. It still seemed just as big, even if maybe just a little less spectacular, but I loved it just as much. We also drove by our old home and neighborhood which was literally a trip down memory lane. When we got home Grandma made us up some pizza and chicken nuggets while Grandpa and Dad watched the football game--Hamilton tiger cats vs BC lions. Our tiger cats lost, but they seemed to have put up a good fight considering all the whoops and screams Dad and Grandma kept shouting out. After the game we loaded up our car and trailer and said our goodbyes to the grandparents who we will see again soon at Christmas--I can't wait!

Thank you Grandpa and Grandma and everyone! We love you all so much and are so happy and blessed to have a family like you! You make life a good life to live :)

Wow! Those stairs look familiar. Say hi to your grandparents for me, Lixy, and tell them to look out for a Christmas card from me.

Will do! Ha ha, and yes I was so happy to see those stairs still standing and being walked all over. A real blast from the past. Grandma and Grandpa will be so happy to hear from you! We love you.
