Sunny Side Up

Welcome to our soon to be restaurant! The "Sunny Side Up."

For the past 2 weeks Dad has been waking up early every morning
to learn how to open up the restaurant and take care of the morning breakfast crowd and learn how to run the business. Of course, he's made a place for himself there already and can name off
all the regulars and just how they like their morning greeting, coffee, meals and service.

This last week Lixy has started going in as well to learn how
to run the kitchen and take orders and cook up the specials without bringing down the
kitchen and the customers!! She's been doing pretty well, thank God, but please keep
her in your prayers as she has a lot to learn, but is definitely looking forward to learning it!

Greg too has been coming in and learning to waiter, tend tables and run the cash register. We're
also having to learn how to use the kitchen equipment--the big grill, and deep fryer and chicken fryer
and keep them clean and maintaining them! We are really enjoying it though and it's nice to have something like this to do together as a family. We also make some amazingly
good fried chicken! and fish and chips, so come come come!

Our grand opening is on March 1st so this is our last week to train and prepare!
It's scary and exciting. We know the Lord is going to take good care of us and He'll do miracles
for us--He has too, ha! Please keep us in your prayers and you are welcome any time at the Sunny Side Up Restaurant!

The Hatano Wallace News Report

Hello Konichiwa!

Well, we are now one month into the year, and what a beautiful year it is and has been and will be! The world is still perfectly white, snowy and cold out here in Marmora but our home is always toasty and warm with our wood stove blazing brightly--especially now that I, Lixy, have also learned to start a fire and keep one going all by myself!!

Recently the men folk of this family have been busy doing manly duties, while we, the lady-folk keep the "home fires" running. Brian, Chris and William have taken up the local Thursday paper route with Dad who chauffeurs them house to house to meet the neighborhood and deliver their papers. Greg has a daily paper route that he chauffeurs himself to all by himself, but often when he has basketball practice at school Joe or Dad and the boys charge in to the rescue. These last few weeks dad has been going out to Ajax to work on refurbishing a house to help pay for refurbishing our house! We are hoping to build two rooms in our big family room, one for Lixy, so she'll finally have a place to stay, and a guest room for YOU  to have a place to stay when you visit.
BIG NEWS: We might soon be the owners of our very own family restaurant!
It's not for sure yet but it looks like Jesus has a special little restaurant in Madoc, right down the road from Greg's high school, that He wants to give us! The owner right now is a friend and very sweet Christian man who the Lord has been showing that He should pass on the business to us. It's a wonderful opportunity to meet people and also to have a place where we can have fun working together and cooking and planning special events and music and maybe catering to people's homes and events in the future as well! We still have a lot to pray about and work out, but if God wants us there we know He'll get us there and wherever He guides He always provides. So please keep praying for us!!

Here are some pictures from last month when Dad and Mom took us all to Chinese Food for the New Years!!

Anyone Can Make A Difference
